6 Benefits of Rose Oil

Close your eyes for just a moment and imagine yourself walking through a beautiful rose garden. Take in the sweet and floral fragrance of the roses. When you are ready, open your eyes. What emotions came up for you? Likely, positive ones.

Roses have been associated with positivity for centuries – and so have their oils. Originating from ancient Persia in the 10th century, rose oil may have been the first essential oil ever extracted from a flower. The oil has long been linked to luxury, due to the vast amount of rose petals that are needed to extract it.

Now, let’s a take a look at some of the amazing benefits of this essential oil.

1. It helps you feel like a woman.

Rose is a feminine oil and therefore caters to female needs. For all the ladies who don’t feel desirable or lack confidence, this oil will gently support you in embracing your feminine side.

Use the essential oil in your room diffuser or blend 6 drops of rose essential oil in 1 oz. of carrier oil (coconut oil, sesame oil, sweet almond oil, etc.). Apply the oil around your neck, shoulders, chest, belly, arms, and legs. Gently massage the oil into your skin. You deserve this!

2. It helps heal heartbreak and grief.

When you feel heartbroken and are grieving over the loss of a relationship, rose oil will bring you a sense of calm, harmony and peace. I recommend diluting your oil with a carrier oil (see above) and then apply the blend in big, soft, and clockwise circles over your chest and heart.

3. It’s an aphrodisiac.

The Romans knew to use rose petals as an aphrodisiac and decorated the bridal bed with plenty of them. Bring romance into your bedroom by making a blend with sensual rose essential oil and carrier oil (see above), warm the bowl or bottle in hot water and then offer a massage to your loved one. Make sure to warm up the room and light some candles.

4. It helps regulate menstrual cycles.

If your cycle is very heavy or irregular, gently massage your tummy in a gentle clockwise direction during and around the time of your period. Use the above blend of oils to apply even up to a few times per day. Rose oil supports the female reproductive system and therefore also aids conception.

5. It’s good for your skin.

Pamper your skin with rose essential oil. It is safe to use for all skin types but specifically recommended for sensitive, dry, or aging skin. Use a few drops in your toner, shower gel, or face cream. Inhale deeply and enjoy the delicate scent of roses.

6. It cultivates kindness and compassion.

On the emotional and spiritual level, rose oil encourages acceptance, kindness, compassion and love.  When we embrace those qualities within ourselves, we see them reflected back at us in our outside world.

Just open the bottle and take a few deep breaths inhaling the fragrance. By breathing in the molecules, the olfactory nerve sends the signal to the limbic system of your brain, responsible for instinct, memories, and emotions. Focus on the emotions you wish to create, sit back, relax and let the oil do its magic.
