[endimages]April is officially here! In celebration of my birthday month, I’m channeling something that inspires me everyday: the ocean. As someone who lives by the sea and loves all things beachy, I’m gearing up for the warm weather with a little sea-spiration! From fitness fashion to travel destinations, these are my ocean-inspired picks of the season.
FITNESS
LEGGINGS
One of our favorite Beyond Yoga colors this season is Seaglass! The calming, yet invigorating color compliments any workout. I especially love the Seaglass Stripe Hype Long Legging because the flattering stripe design reminds me of the ocean waves.
PADDLE YOGA
What could be better than combining yoga with the ocean? Sup Bliss Paddle Board Yoga does exactly that. Based in Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and San Diego, Sup Bliss offers guided outdoor yoga workouts on paddle boards. All levels are welcome, including beginning paddle boarders and yogis, so you can dive right in!
HOME DECOR
CANDLE
If you can’t make it to the beach, bring the beach to you! Candles are a great way to create the vibe you want in your home. Try the Beach and Dune Beach House Candle from Bliss Home Design. The breezy, summery aroma will make you feel like you are oceanside.
PLATTER
For a gorgeous seaglass-inspired serving platter, I absolutely love the Kiva Platters by RabLabs. Combining luxurious natural stone with 24K gold, the platters are perfect for displaying hors d’oeuvres, or for pairing a bottle of wine with artisanal cheeses.
CANISTERS
Jars and canisters always come in handy around the house. The Kelly Green Glass Canisters by Health Ceramics have a fun, beachy “message in a bottle” feel. Made in Colorado from recycled wine bottles, each piece is fire polished by hand.
ACCESSORIES
BRACELET
Accent your look with an aqua touch! The Elastic Jewel Bracelet in from J.Crew is a fun, girly addition to any outfit and it makes me think of the sea. Get two and gift one to your daughter or niece as a friendship bracelet.
SEASHELL NECKLACE
Carry the ocean around with you all day long with this gorgeous Kaleho Shell Necklace from Kealoha Jewelry. The designer takes a beautiful cowrie shell from the sands of Hawaii, then plates it in 18k gold. The necklace makes a great gift for the ocean lover in your life!
TRAVEL
BORA BORA
One of my favorite types of vacations is a beach vacation! And one of my favorite beach vacations ever was when my family and I visited Bora Bora. Not only is the scenery breathtaking, but there are so many great outdoor activities to do with the family!
TULUM
You’ve probably been hearing about Tulum, Mexico lately because it’s rapidly becoming a favorite beach vacation spot! I was lucky enough to visit last week and I had a fabulous time. From the gorgeous beaches to the jungles and ruins, it’s a must-visit.
REFRESHMENTS
COCKTAIL
When I think about relaxing on the beach, I think about sipping on a refreshing cocktail. The Caribbean Mist cocktail recipe by Something Turquoise is not only delicious, it’s a gorgeous shade of aqua blue. Just a sip of this rum-based drink will help you take a mental vacation!
WINE
For the wine lovers out there, what is more beachy than a glass of chilled rosé wine? One of my favorites of the moment is Telltale Rosé by Gothic Wines. The Oregon wine has lovely aromas of strawberries and rosewater and is a bang for your buck at just $18 per bottle!
INSPIRATION
ART PRINT
If you can’t be at the beach, I suggest hanging an art print of the beach in your home or office. Pick somewhere you’ve travelled or somewhere you’d like to travel for inspiration! I personally love this print of Barcelona by photographer Geoff Reinhard.
QUOTE
Framed quotes are a great way to stay inspired on a daily basis. One of my favorite ocean-inspired quotes is:
“The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea.” -Isak Dinesen
