I love opening my home for any occasion and sharing a fabulous time with loved ones. Here are some simple, year-round tips that helped make my Labor Day party a success!

ENTERTAINMENT

SPARKLY TATTOOS
Fun activities to amuse both the adults and children are a must! This year, I was the “tattoo girl” with our new i am BEYOND temporary metallic tattoos (available online very soon) – they are truly inspired!

SILLY PROPS
People love taking photos at parties, so I provided a box of fun photo props. The silly glasses, mustaches and lips made for great conversation and adorable memories!

REMEMBER THE GOOD TIMES
A slideshow is a simple, yet meaningful way to entertain your guests. I like to play an Apple TV slideshow with photos of us from over the years – it reminds everyone of the good times we’ve shared!

AMBIANCE

FRESH FLOWERS
Fresh seasonal flowers always add charm and life to a party. This time of year, I opt for gorgeous dahlias from Dahlia Delite in Malibu – they are simply BEYOND!

THE PERFECT PLAYLIST
A great party needs a great playlist with tunes that reach all ages, which is why I had my 11 and 14 year old chime in! Here’s a little taste of what we came up with.

REFRESHMENTS

DELICIOUS DISHES

Good food is essential for a good time. I can always rely on Adam & Keith Gertler of Gertler’s Kitchen – their food is absolutely divine! To accompany the laid back vibe of this party, the menu included reuben hot dogs and bacon s’mores amongst a plethora of other goodness.

LOVELY LIBATIONS
For drinks, I kept it simple with end of summer classics like rosé wine, beer and summer blended margaritas. For other times of year, red or white wine is always appropriate and margaritas can be served on the rocks! I make my margaritas with fresh lime juice, tequila and a dash of stevia to stay away from the simple sugars (and the hangover!)

No matter the occasion… good friends + good food = a good time and GREAT memories.
