Does fatigue and lack of motivation get the best of you some days? If so, help is here (and it doesn’t involve caffeine!) The highly concentrated plant extracts in essential oils can support you in warding off fatigue and in keeping your mind, body, and emotions alert, energized and focused.
Below are 6 aromatherapy oils to use for a quick energy boost. You can place 2-3 drops on a tissue or cotton ball and take long, deep inhales. Or, for an instant energy boost, take a few whiffs directly from the bottle. You can also use an aromatherapy diffuser in the room of your choice.
1. Peppermint or Spearmint Oil
The fresh, stimulating fragrance of mint helps to relieve stress, fatigue and mental strain while leaving you feeling vibrant, re-energized and alert. Both Peppermint and Spearmint have similar properties, with Spearmint being somewhat milder and less harsh.
2. Sweet Orange Oil
The cheerful, vibrant, and bright scent of Sweet Orange lightens up your mood, triggering feelings of warmth, harmony and happiness. You can also blend Sweet Orange and Peppermint together. Then inhale the energizing, sweet and fragrant scent of these oils combined. Ahhhh…
3. Bergamot Oil
Bergamot uplifts your body, mind, emotions and spirit, while relieving stress, anxiety and mild depression.
Please note that Bergamot oil is photosensitizing meaning that it makes your skin more likely to burn in the sun or develop brown spots. So please don’t apply this oil on your skin before sun exposure. Photosensitivity can last for several days.
4. Lime Oil
Repel fatigue, apathy, anxiety, mild depression and tiredness from your mind with the refreshing, exotic, stimulating and uplifting scent of Lime oil.
Like Bergamot oil, Lime oil is photosensitizing, meaning that it makes your skin more likely to burn in the sun or develop brown spots. So please don’t apply this oil on your skin before sun exposure. Photosensitivity can last for several days.
5. Rosemary Oil
The refreshing and stimulating properties of Rosemary oil encourage clarity of mind, vitality and a boost of new energy.
Do not use when suffering from epilepsy. Avoid using if you have high blood pressure.
6. Sweet Basil Oil
