Who wants beautiful, glowing skin? Yes, please! Can we do it safely this summer? I say, ABSOLUTELY!
I was in Mexico recently and couldn’t believe the sunburns I saw. It was so sad to see travelers destined for atrocious tan lines and possibly life threatening skin cancer. Thank goodness, there are many alternatives to sun exposure available today!
I would never deny a suntan’s amazing ability to hide skin imperfections, diminish the appearance of bumpy cellulite, and conceal broken blood vessels, spider veins, varicose veins, and wrinkles. Moreover, a tan can quickly and quite simply make us look a little slimmer. But, you don’t need harmful rays to get a glowing tan!
To safely sport and maintain a beautiful, natural “No Sun Glow”, simple do the following:
1. Polish Your Skin
Start with polishing the body with a dry brush or using a Korean spa mitt in the shower. It’s a great way to smooth the skin and stimulate blood flow. Professionally speaking, an appointment for a Body Polish including microdermabrasion and acid wash is, hands down, a favorite of many of my clients. Your skin will be silky smooth and ready for your tanning product, whether professionally applied or your own home version.
2. Apply Tanner
My favorite home version is Jergens Natural Glow. It’s easy to apply, dries quickly and leaves no streaks. For a professional, organic spray tan in Los Angeles, I swear by Sun Kissed by Jenni. It looks so natural and she does house calls, too!
3. Stay Protected
When you are out in the sun, keep your glowing skin protected! In addition to applying sunscreen, I recommend the great umbrellas at The Brelli – they take your beach and poolside looks to another level. So chic! I also love Cabana Life for their large selection of 50+ UV protection clothing and swimwear. Please note, umbrellas or cover-ups do not take the place of your daily sunscreen. Finally, I recommend visiting skincancer.org to find out how much sun protection the clothing you already own can give you. You’ll be surprised!
Now get GLOWING!
