March 21 to April 19
As an Aries, you’re a go-getter who knows how to get shit done. You tend to run hot and have energy stores that others struggle to keep up with. You tend to utilize your energy quickly, which can lead to burnout. Thus, to Astrologers, you’re known as someone who struggles with sustaining energy. I’m not saying we’re right, but it might be beneficial for you to adopt tools that can help you stabilize your energy and build stamina over time. This can prevent potential burnout altogether and is where Supta Baddha Konasana comes in. This posture is restorative in nature, which means it can recharge your batteries and calm your nervous system. Use this pose the next time you feel tense and ask yourself the following questions: What do you need in this moment? How can you approach life with more ease?
April 20 to May 20
Yoga Pose: Cobra (Bhujangasana)
Dear Taurus, you’re one of the nurturers of the Zodiac. With your ability to remain strong, yet gentle, it’s no wonder people come to you for validation and support. Like any mama bear, you fiercely protect what you value. This caring nature extends beyond your personal life. You simply can’t help but create comfort wherever you go, regardless of the environment. What can I say? You put others at ease. Although I understand that this is your nature, it’s important to ensure you remain balanced. Otherwise, you may neglect your own needs. Yes, I am aware of the satisfaction you get from helping. However, self-negligence doesn’t work. In order to truly serve those around you, you must serve yourself. Tune into your your needs with Bhujangasana! This pose opens the heart, elevates the mood, relieves stress and provides extra TLC to your back, which might feel strained from carrying the weight of the world. It’s time to care for your own needs.
May 21 to June 20
Yoga Pose: Knees, Chest, Chin Pose (Ashtanga Namaskara)
As a Gemini, your ability to communicate is admirable. You have a quick mind that receives and delivers information rapidly. This makes you an excellent learner and helps you remain focused on the details of everyday life. Although your mental agility is strong, you may struggle with relaxation. It’s important to remember to shut your brain off and recharge. Otherwise, you may develop anxiety and other mental instabilities. When this occurs, you are likely to experience a communication malfunction. Luckily, there are ways to keep your mind steady and balanced, and one of those ways is by incorporating Asthanga Namaskara into your daily practice. This posture is known to clear the mind, reduce anxiety and open your throat chakra. If you ever feel out of whack mentally, then take a breather and drop into this mofo.
June 21 to July 22
Yoga Pose: Humble Warrior (Buddha Virabhadrasana)
As an empath, you have a strong ability to put others at ease. There’s this inner-knowledge that helps you navigate difficult situations. Although this connection with others is healing, you may struggle with boundaries. This can create a great deal of confusion, especially if you find yourself subject to other people’s emotional fluctuations. In order to shift this pattern, it’s important to establish boundaries. Once you possess clear boundaries, you can be there for others without taking on their baggage. How do you establish boundaries? By recognizing your needs and honoring them. To begin this process, it’s important that you connect with your heart. Buddha Virabhadrasana can help you do just that. Humble Warrior draws attention to the heart, helps develop acceptance, and stimulates the nervous system. These are all important ways to tune into yourself. It’s time to mend your “bleeding heart” and create healthy boundaries so you can provide genuine service to yourself and loved ones.
July 23 to August 22
Yoga Pose: Bow (Dhanurasana)
As the leader of the Zodiac, you embody immense power, which inspires others to become leaders as well. It’s almost as if you carry the energy of the sun and amplify any space you reside. With so much confidence and exuberant energy, however, it can be difficult for you to follow your true path. You must be careful of acting from a place of ego, rather than spirit. Check in with yourself often; is your intention authentic or contrived? If you’re conflicted, then Dhanurasana is a pose that can help. Bow pose opens the heart, regulates the body and reduces stress, which helps you tap into your internal compass. Remember, the best way to express your leadership potential is by aligning with your soul purpose.
August 23 to September 22
Yoga Pose: Plow (Halasana)
Virgo, you’re the taskmaster of the Zodiac who takes great pride in your attention to detail. You have an intuitive sense which guides others seamlessly—you can’t help it. Although your intentions are pure, sometimes your advice might lean towards criticism. This is especially true when it comes to yourself. Your inner-critic can be incredibly strong, which might lead to anxiety. When you experience anxiety, it spurs digestive issues, insomnia and a lack of self-care. Although I would never tell you to neglect your detailed nature, I will say that balance is necessary. Otherwise, you are liable to drive yourself mad. Luckily, yoga is the perfect tool to help balance that internal dialogue. I know what you’re thinking, “I’m too ‘type A’ for yoga!” But that is exactly why you need it! Halasana is a perfect pose for you because it can lead you to the present moment and balance your mind. Some of the amazing benefits of this pose include improved digestion, reduced stress and heightened internal balance. It’s time to let go of control so you can be less of a critic and more of a creative.
September 23 to October 22
Yoga Pose: Fish (Matsyasana)
Oh Libra, be still my heart. You embody the gentle, kind and harmony-loving diplomate. I can’t help but admire your ability to find common ground between opposing forces. Because of this skill, you’re often considered the mediator in your group of friends, work environment and family. People know that they can rely on you for a balanced and objective opinion. Although you love this role, you may find yourself sacrificing internal balance for the greater good. This can cause you to experience a fatigue, tension and brain fog. At this point, you render yourself less than useful. Thus, it’s important for you to take care of your own needs. Check in with yourself—are you giving too much to others? Is your internal balance off? A good way to check in is through Matsyasana. This pose can relieve fatigue, balance the body and release tension, which makes it an ideal tool when you’re in need of serious self-care. Once you tune into your own needs, you can continue to create the utopia you’ve always dreamt of.
October 23 to November 21
Yoga Pose: Goddess (Utkata Konasana)
There’s something about your aura, Scorpio, that carries a magnetic energy. You always have access to this energy—there is no special mantra, no exercise and no Kundalini awakening you must undergo. You’ve got the good stuff. Simply put, you run on a different wave length than most of us. This provides you with great power, which helps you manifest your goals with ease. However, without awareness of this gift, you might unknowingly harm yourself and those around you. Understanding and working with your innate energy is the best way to utilize it properly. Otherwise, you may manifest less than ideal situations. To help you harness this energy, practice Utkata Konasana. This pose strengthens your lower body, stimulates prana and releases stress from your hips. Essentially, this pose can help you tap into your potent Goddess nature.
November 22 to December 21
Yoga Pose: Tree (Vrikshasana)
As a Sagittarius, you’re the explorative and expansive soul of the Zodiac. This nature helps you grow at a rapid speed and gain wisdom beyond your years. As such, you tend to be the life of the party or the all-knowing friend who adds liveliness to any conversation. As popular as this skill makes you, it’s important that you exercise caution from time to time. If you don’t learn how to channel your energy, then you might experience substandard growth. As someone who is passionate about so many topics, I understand that this might be difficult. However, focus is the key to reaching your goals. When you experience a lack of focus and need to channel your vital energy, Vriksasana can help. This posture improves balance and fine tunes concentration. Utilize Tree Pose whenever you feel the need to focus. Remember, when you focus your energy you’ll experience growth on a potent level.
December 22 to January 19
Yoga Pose: Mountain (Tadasana)
My darling Cap, your deep connection to the Earth gives you a strong, stable and sensual energy. This connection ensures that material matters come to you with ease. You’re the friend who gives practical and honest advice and never cuts corners. You understand the importance and determination it takes to accomplish goals on this earthly plane and refuse to sacrifice your vision. As admirable as your demeanor is, you may struggle with self-grounding more than others. This is because you may neglect your connection to your body. Sure, you’re consistently in touch with your material goals, but what about your physical body? You must ensure that your vehicle is well-oiled. Otherwise, there is a potential for instability. Thus, it’s important that you learn tools that can help you become more grounded. Tadasana is just that! This pose connects you to the ground, increases your awareness and strengthens your lower body. When you practice this posture for as little as few minutes a day, you can fully connect to the Earth, your body and your goals.
January 20 to February 18
Yoga Pose: Headstand (Sirsasana)
As the innovator of the Zodiac, you have a latent knowing. This knowing can come in the form of an intuitive hunch, an invention or a desire to connect with your community. Whatever the case, you’re plugged into the Universe—whether you believe it or not. Belief is the issue, isn’t it? I know it might be difficult for your scientific mind to understand, but there’s no hiding your sense of the world between worlds, which is where your inner guidance system remains strong. Your task is to build faith and trust in your intuitive power so you can communicate your insight to the collective consciousness. Yoga can help. Sirasana increases blood flow to your third eye, flushes out the adrenal glands and improves focus. It’s time to shed doubt and fully embrace your intuitive power.
February 19 to March 20
Yoga Pose: Crown (Savasana)
Miss Pisces, you’re known as the brilliant dreamer who speaks through art. Regardless of your medium, you are a vessel for communication. For you, purity of expression is all that matters and ego is an afterthought. Because you’re so connected with the Universe, you may fail to recognize your own connectivity. This lack of awareness can lead to confusion, depression, disillusionment and potential burnout. Thus, it’s important to quiet your mind and tune into yourself fully; to embrace your gifts as a medium in whatever form that may be. Once you develop awareness, you’ll begin to understand who you are and recognize your innate potential. As the most restorative pose, Savasana provides an opportunity to tap into your inner knowing. This meditative posture can quiet your mind, balance your body and channel your energy inward. When you utilize Corpse pose, know that you are connecting with your inner-self and tapping into the colorful and creative world where your natural state of being resides.
