Cardio Quickies

Cardio is always the gift that keeps on giving! Getting your heart rate up not only helps improve your cardiovascular health, but it also aids in fat burning. For most of us, we dread the cardio part of the workout, but it can be so rewarding for our bodies overall. Below are three effective cardio exercises you can do anywhere, at any time!


1. Start in a standing position

2. Jump vertically, reaching your hands high over your head3. Land in a squat position with your hands on the ground4. Kick your feet back, landing in a plank position5. Jump back into the squat position and jump back to the standing position

6. Repeat 10-15 times for 3 sets

High Knees

1. Start in a standing position

2. Begin running in place
3. Continue running in place for 20 seconds (Try getting your knees high for a more advanced workout)

4. Repeat 3 times

Side Lunges

1. Start in squat position

2. Hinge at your hips, keeping your back straight and chest up

3. Squat on your right leg, bringing your left hand to your right toes, keeping your left leg straight4. Squat on your left leg, right hand to your left toes, straightening your right leg5. Repeat 15 times on each leg, for 3 sets (The more you speed up this action, the more your heart raises, giving you a better cardio workout)
