Fall Q&A: Molly Sims

Anything special that you do to transition from summer to fall?
Out here in sunny California, there’s not much of a weather transition from fall to summer (I miss you East Coast Autumn!) But I do love fall produce. I just made roasted butternut squash for my son Brooks. It made me excited for Thanksgiving!

What does fall represent to you?
New beginnings…I spend most of the summer on the East Coast so I love coming back and getting re-settled into California. My son started school in his first two year program this year. So that was definitely a new beginning!

What is your number one fall essential?
I love a khaki trench coat. No matter where you are, it’s chic, stylish and a great staple piece.

What is your BEYOND YOGA must have from the fall 2014 collection?
I love the Stripe-Hype Capri Legging. The color is so fun it makes me want to work out just so I have an excuse to wear them! I also love the Cozy Quilt Raglan. I could easily throw it on to meet a girlfriend or lunch or take my son to school and know one would know I was wearing workout clothes.

What do you do for exercise or where do you go to work out?
I like to mix it up! I love hot yoga, going for hikes by my house and pilates (I just got a reformer!). I also love spin classes at Soul Cycle and dance class at Tracey Anderson.

Any hidden gems in Los Angeles that you can share?
I love my acupuncture therapy with Dr. Jing (West LA). She’s truly a modern medicine woman and her therapy is not only relaxing, but also very healing in ensuring my body functions properly. Lori Bregman is an amazing masseuse and Riki Babila is my go-to waxing maven! In terms of restaurants, I’m really loving the new vegan restaurant, Gracias Madre. And I know it’s not so hidden, but I’m a sucker for The Tower Bar restaurant. It never disappoints!

Favorite fall shoe?
The colored pointed pump! I just got some hot pink ones that I’m obsessed with!

White jeans after labor day – yes or no?
I’m not a stickler for rules, so do what makes YOU feel good! Having said that, I personally prefer wearing a white in the form of a crisp boyfriend blazer or long sleeve swing dress.

What is the next “IT” label?
I’m so excited that COS is coming to America! It’s similar to Zara and TopShop in that it offers a high fashion aesthetic at a more mid-level pricepoint. I think it will do really well in the US.

NAILS: color? art? PLAIN?
I keep it simple in monochromatic colors like pale pink or nude. When I want to be bold, I go for a bright lipstick red.

Big tote or small clutch?
I love both but now that I’m a momma, a big tote is much more practical. These days, I feel like Mary Poppins with all of the stuff I pack in there!

What music is on your workout playlist right now?
“Fancy” by Iggy Azalea is my current jam. I love her! I also love Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Arcade Fire.

What is your “go-to” uniform that you can wear from day to night?
White boyfriend blazer with black trousers and pointed heel. Whether I’m meeting a girlfriend for lunch or on a date night with my husband, this ensemble always makes me feel fashionable and put-together.
