Summer Beauty

Summer is just around the corner and I couldn’t be more excited. Just like your wardrobe, your beauty bag also needs to be revamped with the new season. With the warmer days ahead, I always follow a few rules to ensure a simple beauty routine.

1. Keep it light.

Ditch the heavy foundation and go for tinted moisturizers, BB creams, tinted serums, etc. Even better? Ditch the foundation all together during the day and keep it for nighttime makeup. Others want to see your sun kissed face and freckles, not a layer of makeup.

2. Add a bit of color.

Although I tend to keep things neutral, I always like adding color to my nails and lips. In the summer, a orange-red lip is fun and works perfectly with tan skinned.

3. Wear sunscreen.

This is important year round but especially crucial during the summer when spending more time outdoors. Don’t skip this step, ever.

4. Skip shampoos.

I know this can actually be more difficult in the summer due to more sweating, swimming, etc but find a dry shampoo that you love and use it often. It’s worked wonders for me and is such a time saver.

5. Faux glow.

I’m a big fan of faking a tan until the real thing comes along and wear bronzer every day. It just adds that little bit of color and wakes up your face. (Bonus tip for using self tanners; get this mitt for application. It’s life changing.)
